Health care providers

Working with health plans

Health care providers play a critical role in helping patients access care from their health plans

As a provider, you are best suited to explain to an insurance company a patient's condition, medical history and the importance of the prescribed medication. If a claim for a treatment has been denied, doctors are often needed to write a letter of medical necessity and/or to call a patient's health plan provider as part of the appeal process.

To assist your patients in getting the appropriate care to treat their psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis, we offer you these resources to use with health insurance companies.

If you would like assistance please contact the Health Policy Manager by
e-mail or at 800.723.9166 ext 550.

Please note: The American Academy of Dermatology or your state dermatology organization is the best resource for reimbursement and coding questions.
